The construction of the monastery began in 1999, the settlement welcoming its first inhabitants only in 2008. The entire monastic complex was erected in honor of the heroes who fell in the two World Wars, some of them being buried in the cemetery near the monastery. The ensemble of the monastery includes the walled church, the sleeping rooms and a marble crucifix. The church of Prislop Monastery has two patronages: the "Transfiguration" and the "Holy Trinity". Its iconostasis was carved in lime wood, the icons that adorn it being painted in Târgu Frumos.
