About

The wooden church "St. Nicholas" in Valea Chioarului dates from the 18th century, being originally erected in Recea locality. From there, the church was moved and rebuilt in Valea Chioarului, during which time it underwent some modifications: the walls were plastered and a brick porch was added. The edifice is an example of Baroque style, having a slender turret with a closed steeple and a tiered coif with a bulb at the base. The original iconostasis has been almost entirely preserved, with only the medallions on the right side missing.
