About

According to the archives, the wooden church "The birth of the Virgin Mary " from Ieud Vale dates from around 1710, while according to the folk tradition it dates back to 1717. The church is surprising in size, being one of the largest wooden constructions in Romania. Another interesting aspect is the legend surrounding its construction, to which it is said that the famous outlaw Pintea the Brave contributed with a bag full of gold. Unfortunately, the painting on the interior walls was largely destroyed.
